Mary Mother of the Young

On 22 December 2000,
during the Jubilee of Peace,
the Holy Father shared his love
for the Madonna with us,
allowing us to call her
by her new name of
Mary, Mother of the Young
and giving us the prayer
that we use to invoke her every day,
both personally and all together.
Mary, Mother of the Young
has become our invocation and litany
and every year, on 22 December,
we celebrate her memory.
Mary, Mother of the Young
has the face of a Byzantine icon
received as a gift from the Holy Father
who we worship with love and faith.
We respond to the gift by the Holy Father
with the commitment of a daily rosary
that is devoted in particular
to peace and justice
arising from the conversion of hearts.
