Every man is the temple of God

Anyone who fights with hate and violence
to affirm his faith in God,
is very far from the truth.
Because God is the only Father of us all,
and is mercy and love.
One must know how to kneel
before such a mysterious force
and recall that each of us
is a temple of God, and thus responsible
to communicate it in the truth.
Each of us, with his way of being,
with his way of living, has the means
of making the people he meets reflect.
All men and women,
distracted by thousands of contradicting messages,
can feel attracted
by those who open their mind to Transcendence,
by those who never judge, by those who always love,
by those who welcome the unforeseen
as something eagerly awaited,
by those who lace their actions with sincerity
and generosity, by those who – in other words – live with God.
I wish that all of us, friends of the brotherhood,
every morning, as the first thought,
focused with love on the Father of Jesus
and on all his children scattered around the world
would say this prayer: "Lord, I am not worthy,
but live in me.
Lord, live your silence through me,
speak and listen through me.
Lord, make it so that in all my actions
You emerge and I disappear.
Lord, if you will, use me".

"…The hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You worship what you do not know;… But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such as these to worship him" (John 4, 21-24).

"Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple" (1Corinthians 3,16-17).
