Searching the soul
We can direct our life
toward the truth of ourselves
if with the same diligence
with which we care for our body,
we also care for our thoughts, our heart,
our desire, and our spirit.
Searching the soul
is one of the tools
that we can use.
Our conscience illuminated by the gaze
of Lord Jesus on the cross
and guided by the Spirit,
trained to be grateful and faithful;
the conscience that knows how to focus
energy on one’s existence and on one’s actions,
and to lay bare all compromises;
the conscience renewed
by frequent reconciliation
and oriented by our spiritual guide.
I ask with all my heart that,
who lives the Yes rule,
gazing upon the Lord on the cross
and feeling his Spirit of love,
should search their soul
several times a day.
In the morning almost as if to identify the
points on which to focus attention
on the day that has just begun;
in the evening to analyse the day,
but also at noon, during the Angelus,
with support from Mary.
Soul searching on a personal level,
and weekly on a community scale,
that makes us aware of our actions,
our thoughts, our prayers,
our resolutions,
our yeas and our nays,
to be faithful to the love of our Lord.
Searching the soul to take control ,
of our life, with determination.
"Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in
the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realise that Jesus Christ
is in you?" (2 Corinthians 13,5).
"Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise the words
of prophets, but test everything; hold fast to what is good;"
(1Thessalonians 5,19-21).
"Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray
for one another, so that you may be healed" (James 5,16).
"So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if
you remember that your brother or sister has something against
you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled
to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift"
(Matthew 5, 23-24).
