Lifelong learning
Those who enter the brotherhood prepare to
declare a "complete and unconditional yes"
to God, to his love,
to become the tool of his will.
Years are needed to prepare
for this final yes,
but what really counts is that
each person is aware
of taking a path of personal,
and community training,
that will last their entire life;
is aware
that only a harmonious development
of the body, the heart and the mind
can make us gentle tools
in the hands of God.
The friends of the brotherhood
have a privileged space
for their meetings, personal prayer
studies and meditation of the Word,
liturgical prayer, and the Eucharist.
They always seek dialogue
with women and men of God,
spiritual guides,
experts tested by time,
by life and by silence,
capable of recognising
the action of Grace
and suggesting how to work with It.
They are also constantly
interacting with the "world of good will",
that world that often believes not to believe
but that in its scrupulousness of thought
has always communicated with us
often giving us knowledgeable insight
to discern the signs of the times.
And thus we try to maintain
a profound communion and sincere friendship
with those friends who
after spending some time with us
decide to live their own life
in ways that differ from ours.
This mental openness
is an indispensable condition
so that habits will
never eliminate the gift and vocation.
"Then Mary said, "Here am I, the servant of the
Lord; let it be with me according to your word." Then the
angel departed from her" (Luke 1,38).
"Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am
gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
(Matthew 11,29).
