Brotherhood of Hope

As you get closer to us
you’ll find a brotherhood
where young people, husbands and wives and families,
monks and nuns
are united, with a single heart and a single soul,
based on the first communities of believers
as described in the book of Acts.
We are all different
in terms of age and way of life,
but we all submit our life
totally to God
getting closer to Jesus,
some through the bond of marriage,
some through a special consecration,
imitating him in poverty, in chastity, in obedience.
We maintain a secular state of life
to exist in the world,
but with our heart filled with God.
Respecting the call of each person,
we all experience our work;
we all live with joy the conviction
that nothing belongs to us
and everything is given to us to be shared.
We all have time for prayer
and permanent training,
that we must never neglect.
We consider the commandments,
the beatitudes and the evangelic counsels
as our resources
because these teachings help us
to live in the world without being part of the world.
Those in the presence of God know they must kneel to become pure.
Those who pray often love poverty,
those who made God their logic
recognise, and love, the value of obedience.
We do not seek power and privileges,
but we serve with humbleness
knowing we are the last as well as the first.
We try to encounter God
at all times,
through good, modest,
and unbeknownst behaviour.
Poor people, but good people;
simple people, but sincere people;
people who try to be a piece
of bread that everyone can eat;
people that do not flaunt their Lord,
but experience Him.
We welcome with joy the talents
through which the Lord has enriched our lives
offering them freely
wherever we are asked.
Among ourselves we call each other "friends",
remembering the Word of Jesus
who, to his people, said:
"I no longer call you servants, but friends".

"I do not call you servants any longer, because the servant does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father" (John 15,15).

"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.
Awe came upon everyone, because many wonders and signs were being done by the apostles.
All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had need.
Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of the people.
And day by day, the Lord added to their number those who were being saved" (Acts 2,42-48).
