The gift of Hope

The special gift that the Lord has given us,
to be hope for men
of our time,
is instilled in us
to the extent to which we clear our minds
and fill ourselves with the presence of God:
the Father who loves us constantly,
the Son who gives us His word,
the Holy Spirit that directs us
to take new roads and actions.
We communicate hope,
we help present-day man
to "awaken" our slumbering hope,
if God dwells within us,
free from any spirit of judgement,
from any ill will, from any rivalry,
if we learn to live
according to the Beatitudes:
pure of heart, meek, poor,
pacified and peacemakers.

"Then he looked up at his disciples and Jesus said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.
Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you will be filled.
Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh.
Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for surely your reward is great in heaven. For that is what their ancestors did to the prophets" (Luke 6, 20-23).

"... but in your hearts sanctify Christ as Lord. Always be ready to make your defence to anyone who demands from you an accounting for the hope that is in you" (1 Peter 3,15).
